Dandenong Thunder FC are thrilled to acquire the services of Central Coast Mariner Peter Skapetis and have tonight signed the 23-year-old attacker. The former Brisbane Roar talent has committed until at least the end of the NPL Victoria 2020 season.
Skapetis arrives from the Central Coast via Brisbane Roar where he signed in August 2017.
The former Youth International returned to Australia after plying his trade in England for six years and made 14 Hyundai A-League appearances for the Roar season.
Skapetis made an immediate impact at Brisbane, finding the back of the net in his competitive debut that saw the Roar overcome Peninsula Power 4-2 in the FFA Cup. Skapetis’ impressive form continued when he scored from distance against Melbourne Victory, also in the FFA Cup.
Melbourne-born Skapetis ventured to England as a 16-year-old and ultimately signed with English Premier League Outfit Stoke City after a stint in West London with Queens Park Rangers
Skapetis has represented Australia at under 20 and under 23s level where he bagged 11 goals in eight appearances.
Skapetis having never played in the NPL is super keen to start this new challenge at Thunder.
Skapetis says “I’m excited and I’m looking forward to beginning this new journey at the Thunder. I would like to thank the club for the opportunity given and I hope for a successful and prosperous season ahead.”
